FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does the price of your proposal include?

Our proposals include the cost of labor, materials and all taxes. Change orders will only be used when and if something was added by the customer or something that was impossible to foresee before demolition began. No change order is ever made without discussing it with the customer first.

Whose responsibility is it if my project requires permits?

If permits are needed, we will obtain those for you and include the cost into your contract. We want you to have as little to worry about as possible.

Do you clean up every day?

Yes. We cover all non construction areas and clean up any dust migration.

How long will my project take and will you have a schedule for me?

The size and complexity of your project will determine how long the job will take. When going over final plans with you, a written schedule will be provided and adhered to as best as possible. There are almost always surprises during construction and after demo that may delay the project, but we will always keep you in the loop. We do our best to get in and out of your home as quickly as possible.

How long have you been working with the subcontractors you use?

I have been working with most of my subcontractors for at least 8 years.

What is a General Contractor?

A general contractor is a contractor who either completes all of the work in your home himself or manages the subcontractors who complete your project. Our company is a hybrid of the two.

How do we keep in touch during the job?

You will always have the contact information of your estimator, project manager and/or superintendent. If for any reason you cannot get ahold of one of them, please call the office and a member of our staff will happy to assist with any of your concerns.

When can you start?

Start dates will always depend upon the material availability and the size of the job. Plans and/or permits along with what type of preparation is necessary, can also be a factor in determining the initial date of service. This information will be discussed during the initial consultation and in general, we only start jobs after all available material is accounted for.

What will you do to protect my home during the remodel?

We will put plastic protective covers over all areas of the home that are not under construction in order to separate the construction areas from the non construction areas.

On what basis do you bill for your work? Do you require a down payment?

Yes we require a down payment. We bill for our work on a progress based scale which will be outlined in our contract with you. Your particular project will have a custom payment plan that will keep progress of the work and payments made relatively even with each other.

Are you Licensed and Insured?

Yes we are licensed as a general contractor in the state of Arizona, and we carry all the required general liability insurance.

Does every remodeling job need a permit?

No. Permits are for the protection of the homeowner and are generally required for many plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and all structural remodels or additions. Remodels that are cosmetic in nature i.e. new cabinets, paint, non structural walls, do not generally require a permit.

What if my property needs emergency repairs?

We do not generally handle emergency repairs. There are specific companies that handle these kinds of situations.

What kind of warranty do you provide?

Our warranties, which are normally two years, are mandated by the ARIZONA REGISTRAR OF CONTRACTORS (AZ workmanship standards). Workmanship and manufacturer warranties are as stated by the original company.

How do I come up with a strategy to remodel my home?

First, determine what you would like to remodel (i.e. kitchen, bathroom or adding an additional room). Next, outline a budget and establish what items in your remodeling project are the most important. This is suggested so that you can itemize cost and stay within your budget. Finally, you will want to locate and research contractors that can perform the work required of your project. Obtain bids from no more than 3 different companies in order to make comparisons easier.

Can you help me design my project?

Yes. We have our own design showroom, Structures Cabinet + Design, which is located next door to our main office. Our in house designers are here to help you through the entire process.

Will I be able to live in my home during the remodel?

Yes. Depending on this size and scope of your remodel, we will schedule your project so that your remodel is as comfortable as possible.
